In a rare accommodation to site owners' dissatisfaction with the crawl process, Google has introduced Google Sitemaps, an SML-based feed that describes a large site and predicts likely update frequency. Google might have waited a long time to get Webmasters more personally involved with the indexing process, but Sitemaps takes a huge step forward, in theory, by allowing the Webmaster to set up a personal crawling relationship with Googlebot.
